The Boomtown Rats – Shes So Modern

The Boomtown Rats were a new wave group led by Bob Geldof. All six members were originally from DĂșn Laoghaire, Republic of Ireland. The name Boomtown Rats comes from a gang in Woody Guthrie’s autobiography, Bound for Glory. They became a notable band, but one whose accomplishments were overshadowed by the charity work of lead singer Bob Geldof.

Republic of Loose – Comeback Girl

Republic of Loose is an Irish funk rock band. Republic of Loose is influenced by numerous American music genres of the twentieth century. Current members of the band include:

The Fat Lady Sings – Arclight

The Fat Lady Sings were a rock band initially from Dublin, Ireland, fronted by singer and songwriter Nick Kelly. Almost immediately after forming, they relocated to London, and remained there for the rest of their 8 year career. They remained self-financed and self-managed for 18 months, building a substantial live following. In January 1994, the band split with the lead man Nick Kelly announcing that he was quitting.
